Hey front office/Dear diary,
So today because there was so many of us, I didn't have a desk during the morning. So I took out my laptop and what amazing game do I have on my laptop? SUPER TEXT TWIST! STT took over the attention of the office for about 2 hours, especially for Naomi and I. She even stayed an hour and a half after she was supposed to leave because it's so addicting. But even though we had the shared brainpower of Joe, Aaron, Tyler, Dan, Naomi and I no one was able to beat my highest score from working aloneeeeee
Then after lunch, Dan and I decorated downstairs for Peggy's retirement party and the IS&T staff holiday party. It looks very festive down there and I must say all the credit goes to Dan and I, except for this sign: http://twitpic.com/ts9yd. You all seriously need to check that baby out!
Then we spent the afternoon with some more games. Group attempts at Sporcle games and 50 states in 3 minutes games consumed us for an hour.
Oh and we did some work somewhere in there too.
Game day = Awesome day.
Also, Aaron got some awesome time at Sudoku too.
Oh and Aaron is now known as the Muffin Man, which means when we're all back from break, he's going to buy us muffins =]

Office Secret Santa/Chanukkah Harry?
Hey guys!!
It's that non-denominational winter holiday time again!!
I know it's a hard pressed economy but is anyone interested in a front office secret gifting process that defines our america today?
The limit would be 10-15 bucks and it might be a way to foster interoffice holiday spirit. Gag gifts are also accepted.
Comment here to let me know ASAP.
-Wildchild
UPDATE:I have sent out an IS&T Front Office Wide invite. Accept and on the date specified we will draw names.
SEOND UPDATE: Wow guys, epic fail. ME and Niomi will be in a not so secret santa. Thanks.

First Official Mac-Theft Attempt!
Dearest Readers,
At around 12:55pm today, Aaron tried his first attempt at stealing my computer.
Here is how it went down:
As Dan was leaving his shift and I was moving my stuff over to his desk to sign myself in, Aaron sneakily went over to the desk where I had left my Mac. He nabbed the laptop and slyly put it under his desk. As I was still moving my stuff over to the front desk, I still didn't notice.
However, Aaron should first done some observational research.
If he had been making observations about my computing habits today, he would have heard the ping of Gchat on my Gmail. SO, as he was placing my laptop under his desk, he should have closed my computer in order to mute any sounds, BUT he was foiled as my friend Bryan Gchatted at me.
So, Aaron, it would behoove you to research your mark before you try to make the snag.
Sad Score: GChat: 1 Aaron: .5
I give Aaron the .5 because he did actually take my Mac, but it wasn't until I heard the Gchat did I notice it was gone. Kudos to Aaron.
Stay tuned for another possible theft attempt as the weeks roll on

A salute to Aaron!
Hello fellow IS&T student-staff!
So it appears I've never wrote on here so clearly I had to make my mark!
Once again, do not be fooled by Aaron's delightful exterior. He is a man of many skills, clearly a Renaissance man. Not only is he the youngest non-student in our office with a background in engineering (ohmygawd!) but he is also quite the eloquent writer (something that I am not). On Wednesday, I had to hand in my final project for my Experimental Psychology class which was 50% of my grade!!! So while I was at work on Tuesday, Aaron helped me edit my paper, taking out all my grammatical faux-pas and going through it line-by-line. He was there til about 5:45, he even asked Sir James to wait!!!! And even after staying to help me, he gave me his aim screenname (I know you all want it but you can't have it!), if I needed anymore help! To this, I salute our "Respected Sir!"
Let us appreciate and enjoy his presence until the horrible day that he is gone =[
Love you all,
S.Koomz

Tea Part 2
Cran-Apple: 4 and kind of a bore, this tea reminds me of Ocean-Spray without any of the Ocean Spray goodness. If your looking for hot semi-flavored water, or you just don't have anything better to do with your time, then give it a try.
Add- flavor.
Orange Spice: 6, not a bad combo of citrus and almost a mulled cider spice. Very calming but wit little kick at the end.
Add- nothing, or one cream for a thick creamsicle flavor.
Green Tea: 7, although not one of the best green teas I've ever had its not a bad choice. Not to weak but not too bitter.
Add- Lemon if you can find it.
Cinnamon Stick: 6, I'm a little bias because I love cinnamon, but seriously worth a try.
Add-nada
Vanilla Chai: 5, kinda wierd. Try at own risk.
Add- 1 cream.
Peace

Tea Tasting- Part one
So I have tasted every tea flavor in the kitchenette...twice. Here are the ratings for each kind. (Ratings are based on an "out of 10" system with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best)
Lemon: Solid 6, not a bad choice on a day your just looking for something refreshing but not a serious pick me up.
Add- Nothing.
Mint Medley: Cool 7, if your in the mood for a cool mouth taste without the bite or bitterness of a regular bagged herbal then this is the one for you.
Add- Nothing.
Earl Grey: Nice 9, a strong mix of traditional black tea with bergamom. It gives a hardy backing to the original flavor. Perfect for a pick me up or a rainy day.
Warning- Might be too bitter for the inexperienced tea tongue.
Add- 2 mini moo's for a creamier taste. Goes nicely with the bergamom.
English Tea Time: Nice 9, a smooth flavored black tea with a weaker flavor that is excellent paired with one or two creams (three will over whelm it).
Add- 1-2 creams.
Cinnamon Stick: Great 8, for those who like cinnamon this is a great choice. It is a slightly sweeter sting than the Apple and Cinnamon (see below). Great for those rainy/cloudy/any day.
Add- Nothing.
Darjeeling: Nice 9, for the true tea lovers out there this is a good blend. While not too weak and not too strong it is a good balance for a black tea. Slight bitterness can be tapered off by a single cream without losing the flavor.
Add- 1 cream.
More later!!
Peace.

MAJOR REARRANGEMENTS!
*Salutes Major Rearrangement*
Now that Linda and Stacy are in charge of the Front Office at 111 Cummington St, Linda has decided to redecorate the Front Office!
I personally am for this. This might mean I get a fancy new desk or chair.
But the next time you walk into 111, it will be significantly different.

Sir James is sighted!
TBrew here with a Sir James Stone sighting!
To our dismay, Jim Stone left IS&T this past Friday :( and it has been sad for all of us.
ALAS!!!
He is now consulting with the office so there will be sightings of the now-elusive, Sir James.
Your Tri-Weekly Coffee Update
Ahoy!
This is TBrew here with your tri-weekly coffee update...
Sorry I just got interrupted by Lenny from the BU Medical Library. Probably looking for a pre-approval.
Anyway, I gave myself a little more time to get ready this morning and therefore couldn't run by Starbucks before my shift started. So, as Aaron was signing me into PH and I asked him if I could go get some coffee because I'm fairly sure I'm addicted now. He was silent for a moment and then snidely said I could go but ONLY if I got him something.
Little does he know how generous I am.
So I went out to get my Starbucks. Normally, around this time of year with the holidays approaching, I usually order a venti, iced, non-fat, pumpkin spice latte. The key ingredient here is pumpkin spice. I ALWAYS order it because it is only around this time of year. BUT, I did see on the menu that there was a new holidary special: the Caramel Brulée Latte.
Hmmm... I know what caramel is and I know what creme brulée is, but wtf is caramel brulée? So I naturally ordered it to try it. It's actually not that bad, reminiscent of the eggnog latte with a different spice is, but a million times better than the gingerbread latte which leaves a very weird aftertaste in your mouth.
Taking heed to what Aaron asked for, I bought him a pack of shortbread cookies and I came back to the office. I tossed them on his desk and then proceeded to hand out to OTHER PEOPLE the cookies I bought for him.
Goes to show what being nice does to people, makes them give away half to other people.
Oh well! My karma is good.

Aaron Sings!!
Office Compadres:
Don't let his demure manner decieve you Aaron is indeed a performer. Of what you ask? Well, if you haven't paid attention to the title, he sings! I haven't been able to elicit any sounds out of him as of yet but together I think we may be able to convince him to give all of us a small performance!!!
Peace,
Wildchild

You're a Harry Wizard
Delving into the Narnia that is the back of the IS&T front office desks, a copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was found. Moreover, another item found in the back of the drawer was a "silly slammer," which was thought to be one of the deathly hallows in itself. Especially when it yelled when it hit the ground after being dropped off the desk. This magic is clearly dark.
A local muggle, Sadaf Kooooomadahmnanberg, was quoted in saying: "Ima totally snag that book yo'!" as she fled from the front office, toppling a surprised Steve Macchi coming through the front door.
Reports lead us to believe that she has indeed taken the book and is now at large somewhere in Western Montana.

Stolen Computers and Copy Quotas
My Dearest students, pupils, respected miracle workers of the telephones,
I would like to make an unofficial reminder, thanks to Wild child, that all copies are unofficially supposed to be unofficially work related. Thus, please make copies at will, with many thanks to Boston University's generous allotment of paper resources to their students.
Also, keep your eye's peeled for unattended Mac's that may happen to be at Tyler's desk. This may be confiscated, at will.
Regards
"Respected Sir" Clause
Aaron, on having an email addressed to him as "respected sir", has decided that all questions are to be asked in the same formal manner.
Ex. "Respected sir, what is Peggy's extension?"
Ex. "Respected sir, what is Peggy's extension?"
Kean Eye on the Office Returns
Today we welcome back Val to the office. Her glowing tan and good mood must also be attributed to the fact that she has welcomed a new grandchild over the last week. So welcome back Val.

Jim's Last Day

An emotional day for all of us here in the front office, Jim has finally left the building.
The party downstairs in the old print lab was a huge success!!! There is so much cake we are trying to give it away so get down here ASAP.
To you sir, and your new light saber. GOOD LUCK!!
Pictures:
- Aaron and Erin wrapped his gift from his sister.
- Jim with his light saber.
- The boys duel one last time. It's sideways, I know.
